Travel Tips for Komodo Tours

Best time to visit:

  • April – October (Dry Season): Best time for trekking, village visits, and enjoying clear landscapes.
  • November – March (Rainy Season): Fewer tourists and lush green scenery, but trails may be muddy and more challenging.

Tour Difficulty Level:

  • Moderate: Trekking to Wae Rebo (approx. 2.5 hours uphill) and Ranaka Volcano requires basic fitness.
  • Suitable for adventure seekers who enjoy walking, cultural experiences, and outdoor activities.

Climate & Weather:

  • Warm to hot in lowlands (28–32°C)
  • Cooler in highlands like Wae Rebo & Ruteng (15–22°C, especially at night)
  • Rain showers possible year-round, so always bring light rain gear.

Practical Tips:

  • Carry small cash – ATMs are limited outside of Labuan Bajo and Ruteng.
  • Electricity in traditional villages (like Wae Rebo) may be limited – bring a power bank.
  • Respect local customs: ask before taking photos of people and dress modestly in villages.
  • Travel light but smart – a daypack for trekking and a small suitcase/backpack for the trip works best.
