Spider Web Rice Field – Komodo Trekker

Lodok Cancar – The Famous Spider Web Rice Fields.

Step into the cultural heart of Manggarai and witness one of Flores’ most iconic landscapes—the Spider Web Rice Fields of Cancar. Just 17 km from Ruteng, these extraordinary rice paddies unfold in perfect circular patterns, divided from a single center point called the lodok. This ancient system of land-sharing, led by the Tu’a Teno (Lord of the Land), reflects harmony, balance, and deep spiritual traditions that are still alive today.

From the hilltop viewpoint, the panorama is simply breathtaking. In the planting season, the fields shine a vibrant green, while during harvest they turn into a golden masterpiece. A short climb of about 250–300 steps takes you to the best vantage points, where you can capture unforgettable photos and immerse yourself in the stories of this living heritage.
